- כּוֹסִילְתָּא
- כּוֹסִילְתָּאf. (כסל, v. כֶּסֶל; cmp. P. Sm. s. v. 1786, sq.) 1) the space between the shoulders (interscapilium), shoulder-blade. Taan.21b (read:) לבושא דיתיב ביה קרנא והוה בזיעא בי כ׳ (v. Var. in Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) a garment in which there was placed (fastened) a cap (for receiving the blood) which (garment) was cut in at the shoulder (so that the operator could let blood standing behind the female patient); Ar. לבושא דאית ליה ביזעי ביזעי באפי כ׳ a garment in which there were several incisions to correspond to the shoulder-blade. 2) the lancet for blood-letting. ריבדא דכ׳ the puncture made by the lancet. Sabb.129a עד דנפיק מד׳ דכ׳ until the puncture was healed up. Snh.93b. Macc.21a. Keth.39b כיר׳ דכ׳ as much pain as is caused by the puncture of the lancet.
